A liderança estratégica dentro da segurança e defesa com foco nos resultados

Abstract

In this work, the characteristics and competences of the leader were enumerated; presented concepts and practices of strategic leadership and their impacts on management; and demonstrated the actions of the strategic leader for the sake of security and defense. During the research, the data were interpreted and evaluated according to the author's experience in security and defense matters and according to the confrontation of the ideas of several authors who dealt with strategic leadership. It was then demonstrated the applicability of the ideas contained in the work to the current scenario, highlighting the development of actions in institutions related to security and national defense. In this line of reasoning, the main theoretical characteristics of strategic leadership were discussed, demonstrating that there is a need to assimilate and practice the ideas exposed for the future of the organizations linked to these activities. Finally, the favorable factors and the feasibility of developing this methodology of strategic leadership in order to achieve the goals of the organizations and, ultimately, those contained in the National Defense Policy were reinforced. The paper dealt with strategic leadership for the sake of security and defense and was limited to the study of existing literature on the subject, not including the particular analysis of institutions or specific organizations. It is restricted to the approach of factors and aspects related to the strategic leader, citing, eventually, those related to activities related to security and defense, in order to enable the achievement of its objectives.
