Benefícios da integração elétrica de Roraima para a Segurança, Defesa e Desenvolvimento Nacional

Abstract

The end of course work addresses the current energy situation in Roraima. The state of Roraima is the only state of the Federation that is not interconnected to the Brazilian electric power grid, and its power supply comes from Venezuela. It represents the main characteristics of a State that is linked to the needs of electric power; the National Interconnectivity System (SIN); the electric power grid of Roraima and obstacles faced to adequately supply electricity to such State. The ultimate objective is to present the benefits of the Roraima interconnection to National Interconnectivity System (SIN) for national security, defense and development. The methodology used in the end of course work was a qualitative bibliographical research from open sources and accessible in books, reports and the internet so that the information and data obtained could be processed and interpreted. The study in question was restricted to the problem of the need for electric integration in the state of Roraima; to the legal impasse of the power transmission line running through the Waimiri Atroari indigenous land and to the supply of electricity by Venezuela from the Brazil - Venezuela treaty, dated 2001.
