Gripen NG equipado com radar Raven ES-05: fator de soberania nacional

Abstract

The purpose of this monograph was to interpret how the set formed by the GRIPEN NG Air Defense aircraft and the RAVEN ES 05 radar can contribute to the maintenance of National Sovereignty. The methodology used comprised a bibliographic and documentary research on Air Defense and its importance for the maintenance of Sovereignty. At this stage, there was convergence on Defense, Security and Development issues, with emphasis on the expression of Military Power. Ahead, the study addressed how Air Defense relates to Sovereignty and the issue of situational awareness in the fighter pilot. Next, surveys of the qualities of four aircraft and their radars were performed. Subsequently, the multicriteria analysis theoretical model was used and objective d ata were extracted from the GRIPEN / RAVEN set, with the current Brazilian set F 5 and GRIFO radar, the Chilean F 16 and AN / APG 68, and the F 22 US and AN / APG 77. Thus, it was possible to compare the sets and identify how GRIPEN responds to the resear ch problem. The study area was limited to Air Defense, choosing criteria for the multicriteria analysis. Similar research can be carried out and can advise Defense authorities on future decisions. GRIPEN relates to Development through the transfer of techn ology, generating jobs and technical knowledge, as well as Defense and Security in the maintenance of airspace and returns the country to a level consistent with its size and leadership in South America.
