Abstract

This article, based on bibliographical research, demonstrates the importance of interagency collaboration in implementation of intelligence-led policing in the Federal Highway Police in conjunction with formal partnerships with other bodies that have common interests, given that the institutional competence of the Federal Highway Police, if based solely on the constitutional definition, it becomes restricted and, consequently, with low social return. The establishment of such partnerships is not only based on affinities, but also through the adoption of concepts and practices used in the theory of Strategic Planning and public contracting, seeking to define correlations between the formalizations carried out and the institutional results of combating crime.
