Poluição marítima: política ambiental e estratégias fundamentais

Abstract

This work deals with issues related to the preservation of the aquatic and marine environment in Brazilian waters, focus on the participation of the Brazilian Maritime Authority. Its main objective is to explain the problems related to pollution affecting the seas and rivers and at the end, to promote greater understanding between Environment versus community in order to enable for Environmental Education to expand the company's awareness about the care of the water. This paper begins with some historical facts related to the Maritime Authority. It continues with an explanation of forms of pollution of the aquatic and marine environment, its causes and consequences for the planet; reports also the treatment Legal & Administrative Responsibilities, and the legislation which entered the Maritime Authority in the context of supervision; describes the importance of the IMO (International Maritime Organization); highlights problems of pollution of Guanabara Bay with its clean-up program, combined with measures and strategies used in these twenty years of existence; demonstrates the decomposition time of the various materials found in municipal waste, focusing on the recycling process. The methodology used was based on research arising from theoretical explanation of several authors, where the causes and effects of this major ecological disaster, as well as possible solutions to improve the quality of life of many existing ecosystems are presented. Finally, it will get to the conclusion that marine pollution is a major environmental problems highlighted constantly increasing in big cities, destroying the quality of life and significantly altering the balance of ecosystems, showing that the most important strategy to reduce this pollution comes from an educational process, and it is necessary to take care of the garbage, treating it consciously and to reflect on use through recycling.
