A organização do Estado Islâmico: ameaças e desafios

Abstract

This monograph addresses the threat of terrorist organization -the Islamic State (IS)- as one of the greatest challenges facing the world today. The aim of this study is to show the current situation of IS, and some proposals to counter this danger becoming greater every day. The adopted methodology was based on bibliographical and documentary research, aiming to seek theoretical frameworks. Work will begin by an historical research, in order to prove the context, the process of emergence and evolution of terrorism until September 2001. Next, comes out an investigation into the behavior of terrorism after 2001 and in particular in 2003, when occured the invasion of Iraq by the armed forces of the United States of America (USA), along with the international coalition. To be proceeding with a detailed study of the emergence of EI, its hierarchical structure, its modus operandi and their current situation. Finally, will be presented some proposals to confront the EI through political, military, intelligence, psychosocial and economical aspects, so that vulnerable states can take preventive measures against the danger arising from this radical group, that seeks the weaknesses of the target countries, and waiting for the best time to attack and threaten the national security of these states.
