A BR 319 e sua importância estratégica para a Defesa Nacional

Abstract

This scientific article focuses on explaining the negative effects resulting from the lack of investments in the BR 319 highway, as to the interests that have to do with the National Defense theme. The deficit in public accounts, the discourse on protection of biodiversity and forest peoples, reduce the possibility of investments in the transportation sector, compromising national integration, regional development, Brazil's border exchange with neighboring countries, and MINFRA's strategic actions. By relating the BR 319 project and the strategic actions, demographic gaps were identified, the absence of the State, the lack of integration with the other regions of the country and bordering countries, which makes the region vulnerable to the action of organizations that commit environmental and transnational crimes. At the end of this article, it is expected that these problems will be addressed through long term planning, in which public policies involving all institutions, especially the Ministry of Defense, will be applied, providing sustainable development to the Amazon region, so that the presence of the State will be consolidated and Brazilian sovereignty in the region can be effectively guaranteed, with positive reflexes for National Defense.
